Bitcoin Payment

A Bitcoin payment is a transfer of bitcoin (BTC) from your digital wallet to a merchant's wallet address, recorded on Bitcoin's public ledger, the blockchain. Bitcoin is one of the payment methods accepted at Polkadot Store Online, and orders paid this way are processed once the transaction is confirmed on the blockchain.

How paying with Bitcoin works here

1. Choose Bitcoin at checkout and place your order. It is created with the status On Hold.
2. Your order confirmation page and email show the wallet address to pay.
3. From your wallet or exchange app, send the amount stated in your payment instructions to that address.
4. Wait for the network to confirm the transaction. Once it's confirmed, your order moves to Processing and is prepared within 1–2 business days.

What "confirmed on the blockchain" means

When you send bitcoin, the transaction is broadcast to the network and then included in a new block. New blocks are added roughly every ten minutes on average, and each block after yours adds another confirmation. Busy periods, or a low network fee, can make confirmation take longer.

Tips for a smooth Bitcoin payment

• Copy and paste the address rather than typing it, then check the first and last few characters.
• Use the Bitcoin network. Don't send other coins or tokens to a Bitcoin address.
• Cover the network fee. Your wallet adds a miner fee on top of the amount; make sure the amount received matches your instructions.
• Transactions can't be reversed, so review everything before you send.
• Keep your transaction ID (TXID) in case you need to contact us with your order number.
