Definition
A tracking number is a code from the shipping carrier that lets you follow your package from dispatch to delivery. We email it once your order ships.
A tracking number is a unique code issued by the shipping carrier when a parcel enters its network. You enter it on the carrier's website to see where your package is and when it is expected to arrive. At Polkadot Store Online, you'll receive a confirmation email with your tracking number as soon as your order ships.
When you get it
Tracking is created at the shipping stage, not at checkout. The usual sequence is:
- You place your order and receive an order confirmation.
- You pay, and the order moves from On Hold to Processing.
- Your order is prepared within 1–2 business days and handed to the carrier.
- You receive an email with your tracking number.
How to use it
- Enter the number on the carrier's website, or use the tracking link in your email.
- You can also check your order from the My Account page on our site.
- Standard delivery typically takes 3–7 business days after shipping.
Reading tracking updates
Right after a label is created, tracking may show little or no movement until the carrier scans the parcel, which is normal. Updates can also pause over weekends and holidays. "Out for delivery" means the parcel is on the truck for your area that day.
Tips
- Your parcel arrives in discreet packaging, so look out for a plain box.
- In warm weather, watch tracking closely and bring the package in quickly to protect chocolate. See Heat-Sensitive Shipping.
- If tracking hasn't updated for several business days, or shows delivered but you can't find the package, contact us with your order number.
